CURRICULUM VITAE:

With numerous awards and top prizes, including the legendary Feruccio Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano, the Maria Canals International piano Competition in Barcelona, the Jose Iturbi International Piano Competition in Valencia, Alexey Lebedev belongs to the elite of the young generation at the piano. In 2011 he won first prize at the 62nd Gian Battista Viotti International Piano Competition in Vercelli, Italy; considered to be one of the most demanding competitions for young performers.

Lebedev was born in St. Petersburg in 1980. He graduated summa cum laude from the St. Petersburg State Conservatory studying with Professors Tatiana Kravchenko and Tatiana Zagorovskaya. In 2004 he began studying at the University of Music and Drama Hanover with Professors Mi-Kyung Kim, Matti Raekallio and Einar Steen-Nökleberg. He perfected his studies with great Pianists and Professors of our time, such as Alfred Brendel, Leon Fleisher, Dmitry Bashkirov, William Grant Nabore, Joaquin Soriano, Xu Zhong, John O'Conor, Tamas Ungar.

Alexey Lebedev has been a regular winner of piano competitions since the age of twelve when he won his first in St. Petersburg. Since then he has won international competitions including 15 first prizes at competitions in Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and Germany.

At the age of 14 Lebedev made his orchestral debut. He regularly plays as a soloist in numerous recitals, orchestra concerts and as a chamber musician with the Duo Arte Mozart. Alexey Lebedev has been invited to perform at many international music festivals, including the Busoni Festival in Bolzano, the Dinard Music Festival, the Peralada Festival in Girona, thr Liszt & Friends Music Festival in Rome, the MASiMAS Festival in Barcelona, the Loumarin Music Festival, "Virtuosi of the Twentieth Century" in St. Petersburg, the International Piano Festival in Merignac (Bordeaux), the "Klassik in der Altstadt" Festival in Hanover and the Wennigsen Music Festival. In 2006 he was awarded the Richard Wagner's Scholarship in Bayreuth, in 2007 - Lutz E. Adolf Scholarship in Bielefeld, in 2010 - Alfred Toepfer Scholarschip in Hamburg.

LEBENSLAUF:

Im ganzen Europa, Asien, Nordamerika und Russland fasziniert Alexey Lebedev das Publikum und die Fachpresse bei zahlreichen Klavierabenden, Orchesterkonzerten und auch als Kammermusiker. Vielfach prämiert und mit Top-Preisen ausgezeichnet, u. a. beim legendären Feruccio Busoni internationalen Klavierwettbewerb in Bolzano, beim Maria Canals internationalen Klavierwettbewerb in Barcelona, beim Jose Iturbi internationalen Klavierwettbewerb in Valencia, gehört Alexey Lebedev zur Elite der jungen Generation am Klavier. Im Jahr 2011 gewann er den ersten Preis beim 62. Gian Battista Viotti internationalen Klavierwettbewerb in Vercelli, Italien, der als einer der anspruchsvollsten Wettbewerbe für junge Interpreten gilt.

Alexey wurde 1980 in St. Petersburg geboren. Er studierte am St. Petersburger N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov Staatskonservatorium in den Klassen von Prof. Tatiana Kravchenko und Prof. Tatiana Zagorovskaya und an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover in den Klassen von Prof. Mi-Kyung Kim, Prof. Matti Raekallio und Prof. Einar Steen-Nökleberg. Wichtige künstlerischen Impulse bekam Alexey von Alfred Brendel, Leon Fleisher, Dmitri Bashkirov, William Grand Nabore, Joaquin Soriano, Xu Zhong, John O'Conor, Tamas Ungar.

Bereits als Zwölfjähriger gewann Alexey Lebedev einen Klavierwettbewerb in St. Petersburg. Seitdem zählt er regelmäßig zu den Preisträgern nationaler und internationaler Competitions. Allein seit 2005 gewann er 15 Erste Preise bei Wettbewerben in Spanien, Italien, Frankreich, Portugal und Deutschland.

Mit 14 gab er sein Debut mit Orchester. Seitdem konzertiert er als Solist bei zahlreichen Klavierabenden, Orchesterkonzerten und als Kammermusiker (Duo Arte Mozart). Es folgten Einladungen verschiedener internationaler Musikfestivals, wie des Busoni Festivals in Bozen, des Musikfestivals in Dinard, des Peralada Festivals in Girona, des Liszt & Friends Festivals in Rom, des MASiMAS Festivals in Barcelona, des Loumarin Musikfestivals, des "Virtuosen des XX. Jahrhunderts Festivals in St. Petersburg, des Klavierfestivals in Merignac (Bordeaux), des "Klassik in der Altstadt" Festivals in Hannover und des Wennigsen Musikfestivals. Für den Festspielsommer 2006 in Bayreuth erhielt er ein Stipendium des Richard-Wagner-Verbands, in 2007 - Lutz E. Adolf Stiftung in Bielefeld, in 2010 - Alfred Toepfer Stipendium in Hamburg.
